Jesus Star!!!

As I decluttered my wardrobe last week, I saw my ManUnited Jersey. The jersey is over 8 years old. ย I knew I should dispose of it, alas it was difficult, for it carried in it deep memories …..

I had used this jersey for a group project at Warwick Business School(WBS), where I did an MSc. in Business Analytics and Consulting. We were to do scenario planning for the club (just a classwork o) and I decided to get a jersey not because I could totally afford it but the message – Jesus Star!! It was my way to remind classmates who were from different parts of the world about Jesus ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
I remember getting to the store and when I asked them to inscribe it, they hesistated a bit ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ˜Of course, they did it ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
Did I feel like a Jesus Star when I did it or wore it? Absolutely NO.
Here is why?
I had gotten into school with a determination to finish with a distinction but my first term was poor. I clearly remembering writing a test and scoring 20% it was even Statistics, a course my Dad taught me in UNILAG ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข. In another course, I got 50% in an important assignment which was 30% of the course if I remember correctly ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™
To make a distinction in my course at WBS, you needed 6 subjects above 70, an average of 65 across courses and at least a 70 in oneโ€™s project.
By term 1, I already had 3 or 4 courses below a 70… so I needed all the other courses to be 70 and above and high enough to push the average above 65.
GOD DID IT!!! He directed me to attend writing seminars, network with past students of my course, and sent me helpers from my church@jubileechristiancentre.
My project was a โ€œ70 on the dotโ€and the other courses were 70 and above!!!
It was a distinction not just in my academics but on all ย sides – I grew in my faith, leadership and social skills. He truly made me a JESUS STAR!!

  1. Thanks for sharing this Sis Esther. My take home: no matter how low we go or how deep into failure we get , there can still be a turn around if we don’t give up. With determination, hard work and prayers…. you can go from zero to hero.

I am currently writing my project and preparing to write my final exam for my program next month. I don’t have it all together yet, work demands, so much stress and time is so short to deliver so much. But with this, I am highly encouraged.

I am using this post as a point of contact, God should direct me to my helpers and touch my Supervisor’s heart so she would be nicer.

    God bless you more MA.

  2. Thanks for sharing this Esther. One thing I am certain of amidst several uncertainties is that Jesus never fails His own.

    Regards.
